Grand Israel Tour departs on Wednesdays, with a minimum of 2 persons only required to guarantee departure. The Tour is of General/Jewish orientation. It is a 12 days tour with 11 nights accommodation and 8 touring days.

 

 

Wednesday Arrival
Upon arrival to airport meet our representative and transfer to Tel Aviv.
Overnight: Tel Aviv
Thursday Modern Israel
Start your tour of Israel with a guided tour of Independence Hall where the establishment of the modern state of Israel was declared. Drive to Latrun to visit the Armored Corps museum, one of the most diverse tank museums in the world. Continue to Beit Guvrin national park, declared by UNESCO as a world heritage site, explore parts of the archaeological remains and unique caves. See the secret underground arms factory from British Mandate times at the Ayalon Institute.

Friday Tel Aviv
Enjoy a tour of Tel Aviv today. Stop at Rabin Square to see where the late Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin was assassinated. Visit the ancient port city of Old Jaffa and walk through the charming artist’s quarter. Explore Neve Zedek and learn about the development of Tel Aviv including its famous Bauhaus architecture. Enjoy the colour of Nahlat Binyamin Boulevard and buy handmade artifacts in the craft market. Finish the day with a walk through the trendy Bohemian district at Shenkin Street.

Saturday At leisure
Enjoy a day at leisure. Take a walk along Tel Aviv’s famous beaches.

Sunday Coastal Plain
Depart Tel Aviv along the coastal plain to Caesarea, capital of Judea under the Romans. Visit the excavations of the ancient city, the Roman theatre and aqueduct. Proceed to Megiddo, identified as the site of Armageddon - visit the archaeological excavations including the well preserved water supply system . Continue to the Druze village at Daliat El Carmel and enjoy lunch and famous Druze hospitality at a local restaurant . Continue on via Mount Carmel to Haifa for a panoramic view of the Haifa bay and the Golden domed Bahai shrine and gardens.

Monday Upper Galilee
Proceed to Safed, the center of Jewish mysticism, to visit the ancient synagogues and the artists’ colony. Continue to the Golan Heights to see the former Syrian bunkers, Kuneitra and the new Israeli town of Katzrin. Stop at a Golan winery for a tour and wine tasting. Onto "Kessem Hagolan", a multimedia presentation of the area and it's history.

Tuesday Sea of Galilee
Start the day with a tour of Nazareth to visit the church of the Annunciation. Continue to Tiberias, explore the centre of Jesus’ ministry at Capernaum to see the remains of the synagogue where he preached, and the octagonal church of St. Peter. Drive via Beit Shean to Beit Alpha to see the remains of the mosaic floor of an ancient synagogue depicting the zodiac.

Wednesday Jerusalem Old City and Bethlehem
Start the day with a magnificent panoramic view of the Old City from the Mount of Olives. Visit the tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper on Mt. Zion. Enter the walled city and walk through the newly restored Jewish Quarter. Visit the Roman Cardo, the Herodian Quarter and continue to the Western Wall. Walk along the Via Dolorosa to the church of the Holy Sepulchre. Continue to Bethlehem (subject to security clearance) to visit the Church of the Nativity.

Thursday Jerusalem New City
Start your day with a visit to the Israel Museum - Tour the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed and see the miniature model of Jerusalem as it was during the second temple period. Enjoy a tour of the New City – include a view the Knesset (Israel’s Parliament). Continue for a moving visit to Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum. Visit Meah Shearim, the ultra-orthodox neighborhood in Jerusalem and learn about their unique lifestyle. In the evening enjoy a middle eastern dinner followed by the spectacular "sound and light" show at the Tower of David museum (weather conditions permitting).

Friday Dead Sea
Depart Jerusalem via the Judean Mountains and descend to the lowest place on earth. Visit the ancient city of Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls where found. Continue along the shores of the Dead Sea to the magnificent cliff top fortress of Masada. Ascend via cable car to explore the remains of King Herod’s luxurious palace and hear about the zealots who defied the Roman Empire from this location. Take the chance to enjoy a float in the salty waters.

Saturday At leisure
Enjoy a day of leisure on your own exploring Jerusalem. Perhaps return to the Old City for some shopping.

Transfer to Ben Gurion airport for departure.
